FRANKLIN MACHINE & GEAR CORPORATION

FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED SINCE 1974

Franklin Machine & Gear Corporation (formerly Franklin Machine Works, Inc) was founded in January 1974 by Earl L. Franklin.  The company began in a small warehouse near downtown Houston and quickly outgrew its location.  In September 1976 FMG moved to its current location in a northern suburb of Houston Texas.

In 1985, Earl bought Texas Gear & Manufacturing and hired its owner, Harold Sheppard to operate and manage Franklin Machine & Gear Corporation.  The company has expanded many times over the years and is now managed by two of Earl's sons, Eddy & Larry Franklin.

In fall of 2015, Tom Patton joined FMG as General Manager with 30+ years of experience in gear manufacturing.  We are excited to have him as an addition to the team.

Franklin Machine & Gear Corporation (FMG) is a full service manufacturing facility offering specialty machining and gearing. FMG is located just 20 minutes north of downtown Houston and currently occupy 3 buildings with a total of  45,000 SF having access from both Frost & Dwyer Streets for ample delivery access.  The building contains five overhead cranes with combined weights of 40+ tons between the two bays to handle any large needs that may arise.  We are excited to announce the opening of an additional 6,000 SF in 2024.
