Franklin Machine & Gear Corporation is a full service manufacturing facility offering specialty machining and gearing. Franklin Machine & Gear Corporation is located just 20 minutes North of Downtown Houston and occupying a 24,000 sq ft building.
The building contains (4) overhead cranes with combined weights of 25 tons in the west bay and 10 tons in the east bay to handle any large needs that may arise.
Company History
Franklin Machine & Gear Corporation (formerly Franklin Machine Works, Inc.) was founded in January 1974 by Earl L. Franklin. The company began in a small lease building near Downtown Houston. The company soon out grew this location and in September 1976 moved to it's current location in a northern suburb of Houston, Texas.
In 1985, Earl bought Texas Gear & Manufacturing and hired it's owner Harold Sheppard to operate and manage Franklin Machine & Gear Corporation. The company has expanded many times over the years and today the company is managed by two of Earl's sons, Larry & Eddy Franklin.
